We are sad to learn that SUSAN STEINER BOLHOUSE unexpectantly passed away on August 6th 2021. Susan along with her partner, Bill Ballenger, was the guardian of KYRIE and the inspiration for our story. She graced our lives with purpose and creativity and KYRIE'S Tale is the happy result. We love you Susan

Dear Friend – I’m sad to tell you that the Angels took momma Susan real sudden-like.
They needed help with all the work they has been piled on with the non-survivors
of Afghanistan and Haiti and the Covid virus and all. They knew how efficient
and giving momma Susan was, so they asked for her help, and she said “Okay!” I guess
she thought we could make-do here but let me tell you it’s lonely
without her. Daddy Bill and I and Sami and the kitties are walking around kind of
lost like. There’s a bit of a hollow feeling in the house and in our hearts but I know
momma Susan would want us to carry on. And I know she would want me to
ask you to remember to make each day a blessing and tell your precious ones
how much you love them. Sure they know you love them already, but they still
like to hear it. That’s all for now. Love always, KYRIE

Patrycja's review on Goodreads - 5 star - June 4m 2021
"Kyrie's Tale" is such a beautiful, moving tale. It is intended for a YA audience (12-18), but I can bet that adults will be touched by it as well.
It is based on a true story.
It is well written and filled with cute illustrations.
The story follows the journey of the dog. Kyrie came from heaven to be with humans, who would love her unconditionally. But before she got there, her journey took her to less happy places. It wasn't always easy, and not all people are loving, but the story shows how dogs are a gift for us. After all, a dog spelled backward is a GOD. Not all humans deserve to keep this gift. And it is not easy for dogs to find the right family. But when they find each other, it is the most beautiful experience for both of them.

"What is it about elkhounds?
Their smiles are genuine, they have communicative ears, their eyes can touch your soul, their nature is generous... They come quietly with fierce loyalty and devotion, a sweet disposition (unless mistreated), and they have a clownish streak. They give their people their hearts and joy! What more can I say, unless to repeat what I have heard: they are like potato chips: you can't have but one! Yes, they do steal your ❤. " Susan Steiner Bolhouse |
